
Water Utility Programs
The Utilities Division operates and maintains Boulder's water supply system, including the raw water pipelines, reservoirs, facilities, and hydroelectric program. The Utilities Division also manages the leasing of raw water supplies to agricultural users, acts as a liaison with local ditch companies, and manages the instream flow program for Boulder Creek.

The Utilities Division is responsible for:
- ensuring that quality drinking water is delivered to Boulder customers;
- protecting the general health, safety, and welfare of all users of the wastewater system;
- ensuring water quality regulatory compliance;
- maintaining stormwater quality;
- conserving water;
- water and stormwater advocacy, outreach and education;
- preserving the community's recreation and transportation opportunities and natural and cultural resources with the Greenways Program; and
- acting as environmental stewards for Boulder's water resources.
