Welcome to the City of Boulder Integrated Pest Management Hotline for pest control activities.

The city has an integrated pest management policy and uses several methods for weed and pest control. Pesticides are one tool and used as a last resort. We evaluate all pesticide usage very carefully and choose the least toxic one possible. This hotline provides information on upcoming pesticide applications by city of Boulder departments.

This information is updated weekly and actual dates of application may vary according to weather conditions. Notification of specific applications will be placed on the property.


The Urban Forestry Division has no applications planned.


Public Works Streets and Bikeways Maintenance has no applications planned.

Open Space and Mountain Parks will apply Garlon 4, an EPA category III herbicide, to the stumps of green ash in areas adjacent to the Enchanted Mesa Trail, from the Enchanted Mesa Trailhead (behind the Chautauqua auditorium) to the watertank area.

Open Space and Mountain Parks lessee will spot apply Milestone, an EPA category III herbicide, to treat Canada thistle on the Bison property located north of the intersection of St. Vrain Rd. and 65th St.

Open Space and Mountain Parks will apply Garlon 4, an EPA category III herbicide, to the stumps of Siberian elm on the Eisenburg property located east of North Foothills Hwy north of the junction between Broadway and North Foothills Hwy.

The Parks & Recreation Department will be dusting, by hand, prairie dog burrows at Valmont City Park June 10-12 weather permitting. Staff will be dusting with an insecticide Delta Dust, rated as caution by the EPA, in order to treat prairie dog burrows that may contain fleas prior to relocation.
