A sustainable landscape is designed to be attractive and
in balance with the local climate and environment. It requires minimal
resource inputs such as fertilizers, pesticides, and water. The PACE program
promotes sustainable landscaping practices in Boulder County by partnering
with groups and agencies to educate residents and landscape professionals.
Residents want to use landscaping companies that have a sustainable focus.
Developing a PACE certification program for this sector will result in
a list of landscapers that have met specific criteria and will create
a way to recognize landscapers that have demonstrated a commitment to
sustainable landscaping practices.
