It is easy to see why Boulder, Colorado, is a popular place to live and work. Located at the base of the Rocky Mountains, Boulder boasts more than 300 days of sunshine, thousands of acres of open space, the University of Colorado, and a bold entrepreneurial spirit. With a population of 99,070, Boulder repeatedly tops quality of life lists, and has been named the “Smartest Town in the Country” by Forbes, the “Foodiest Town in America” by Bon Appétit.
Known as one of the hottest start-up communities in the country, Boulder is home to diverse companies and supports a concentration of national research labs, energy and high tech companies, and robust outdoor recreation, tourism, and sustainable living industries.
The City of Boulder established its Economic Vitality Program to reinforce the importance of economic health to our overall quality of life and to demonstrate the city's support of business and economic sustainability. The city's economic vitality programs and strategies promote innovation, competitiveness, and entrepreneurship. The program coordinates and supports efforts within the city organization and with partner groups in the community to foster the retention and expansion of existing businesses and enhance business services.
