Police responded to routine calls.

Saturday, June 9, 2012

Police took a report of a Second Degree Assault which occurred in the area of 31st and Baseline at about 2:12 a.m. Two men walking in the area reported that a group of unknown men threw a bottle at them and then began assaulting them. Neither victim wished to pursue charges, and neither victim could describe the suspects involved. 12-7712

An employee at Boulder Reservoir told police that a man threatened him with a golf club and was very belligerent. The suspect drove off before police were called but was found a few minutes later. He told police he was at the Reservoir to pray for rain for the fire in Larimer County, and was placing marbles in area lakes toward that end. The 35-year-old suspect was cited for Trespassing on Public Property, Damaging Public Property and Obstructing Government Operations. 12-7745

A male resident in the 1600 block of 9th St. chased down an intruder he found lying on his living room floor. The door to the residence appears to have been locked before the incident, and police noted damage to the door frame consistent with someone breaking into a home. The male resident told the intruder he was going to call the police, and the intruder fled. The resident followed the intruder, who fell several times, possibly because of his level of intoxication. The resident held the suspect down after he fell, until police arrived. The 21-year-old suspect faces charges of First Degree Trespassing and Criminal Mischief. 12-7710

Police contacted several underage drinkers and as they were asking for identification, police could see a plastic bag with a white substance in it inside one of the suspect’s wallets. The suspect admitted it was cocaine. He was also in possession of marijuana and was arrested for Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana (less than 2 oz.) and Consumption of Ethyl Alcohol by an Underage Person. 12-7776

A driver was contacted by police for speeding and possible DUI in the area of Broadway and University around 1:10 a.m. The man appeared intoxicated and told police he was having trouble balancing because of “the beer he had been drinking.” The 54-year-old driver did not complete roadside maneuvers in a satisfactory manner and was arrested on charges of DUI, DUI Per Se and Speeding. 12-7755
